"After the devastating Geth attack on the Citadel, C-Sec and System Alliance military officials analyzed geth advances in weaponry, the human Systems Alliance retrofitted every weapon in service with a thermal clip system developed by the geth."

"Thermal clips hold a store of disposable heat sinks universal to all small arms. Instead of waiting for an overheated weapon to cool down, now weapons can simply eject a thermal clip in order to instantly cool the weapon to allow for continued use. This step forward is to help combatants throw more fire down range in order to sustain attacks. Several militarys have begun adapting to this technology as well after Geth forces overwhelmed security forces on the Citadel."
