Personal Notes:

Vike - Vike is a good marine. I didn't wanna make things awkward by asking how the hell he's still only a Sergeant when he looks more like a Sergeant Major. Whatever, I say, he's not this rank for being incompetent. He's quite the opposite. He kind of reminds me of my first platoon sergeant and so I'm glad I got him as an NCO and not some dipshit that required promotion.

Shield - What a soul brother. Just kidding, it's fucked up what happened to his colony but I highly appreciate the fact that he nutted the fuck up and joined the marines to do something about it rather than sit down and cry. He's a good fighter (I bet he grew up in a ghetto) and not so brash for a Pointman. Brave one, though.

Mason - He became part of the team despite his edgy attitude. I've gotten kinda used to it but I'm okay with him as long as he listens to orders. If he don't then I'll break his fucking neck.

Ensign - He really became one of the team but I haven't seen him much lately.

Plamen - Pretty cool guy I like his attitude. He really doesn't give a fuck about what you think, he's a harsh critic who won't hold back.

Lieutenant Daniel Walsh - A guy like him who's been alive this long dead just like that. We all knew where we were going and there was a good chance he could die. He knew it too but what about everyone else who was close to him? How could any of his family be used to him going on a dangerous assignment like this? And the worst happened, a terrible situation.

Beaulle - What a guy. I like a good fellow engineer specialist. Fuck I miss blowing shit up. He's a damn hero for what he did to that hunter, we better be able to do something about that arm. If there's anyone who deserves a multi million dollar prosthesis it's him. I've seen it happen on a regular line unit so if he can't get one I'm gonna dropkick my congressmen in the ribs.

Kei - Kei is quiet and sort of awkward but a resourceful tech. She can defend herself so she's able to do her technical job which comes in handy so as a team member she's good in my book. She oughta speak up more often, though.

Santiago - He has shitty puns and a good attitude. He's tactically adept and I'm looking at him as another Corporal. Even though he's our second pointman to be one. Well, lead from the front I always say.

Personal History.
Career/Physc Evaluation; Subject James Banner
Prepared by LTJG G Hammond, Naval Intelligence

James Banner grew up on Reach in the Boer Cape Region in a very rich and influential family whom owned several farms in the region. Unlike many of his other siblings, he decided to join the UNSCDF's Marine Corps when word came in that Covenant Forces had begun to breach inner colonies. He left home 10 years ago for basic training and hasn't seen home since. After training, his first assignment as a Marine Infantryman was to the 75th Marine Regiment attached to Vice Admiral Whitcombs battlegroup. He fought in two 'successful' engagements. While the navy battles were won, there were many groundside marine and civilian casualties and Banner saw the extent of ground combat with the covenant.

Before his first contract was up, Banner reenlisted and requested to be trained as a Reconnaissance Marine. Such a privelege took several months even for a seasoned marine such as his self. He was accepted, however and the now Corporal Banner was trained as a Recon Marine. He then was assigned to a Recon Element attached to the 7th Marine Regiment, spent a whole year in cryo as his unit was herded around when brass was trying to decide which colonies could be saved. Eventually he saw combat again on the losing Battle for Alluvion. Alluvion ended up as a disaster, civilian evacuation efforts were highly disrupted. Banners unit because of lack of available transport lost half the civilians they were assigned to evac. I was unable to get any comments from his squadmates about his reaction but one can guess what the typical response was.

Despite this loss, Banner was not deterred and re-enlisted yet again. He was promoted to Sergeant on Alluvion already then took another promotion for an assignment his brass thought worthy of him. Banner was assigned to be a military adviser, training several civilian militia groups across several colonies. He referred to it as some of his proudest work. He's been doing that just last year when he was assigned to another Recon Battalion, this time working up at battalion. It was safe for everyone to say that it would be a waste to keep him there, at this point they're just waiting to assign him to a Recon Platoon. He may not be an E7 but there's manpower shortages all over units on Meridian and the new battlegroup has to move out soon.

Point is, if he think what he's fighting for is right, he'll be dedicated to it. Dedication is what we're gonna need for this assignment and I think we found our Recon Platoon.
